Female entrepreneurship and the social economy are key drivers for a more inclusive and sustainable future. That’s why Startup Europe Awards proudly participates in Sembrando Iniciativas, a transformative programme led by Finnova and funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU programme, within the framework of the PERTE for the Social Economy and Care.
💡 Sembrando Iniciativas is designed to foster female entrepreneurship and improve the employability of women in vulnerable situations—whether due to gender, geographic location, limited economic resources, or low education levels. The programme focuses on green and digital economy initiatives, including circular economy, renewable energy, digitalisation, and sustainable tourism, promoting synergies and alliances for inclusive economic and social development.
🌟 Training workshops, awards, and an innovation lab 🌟
Sembrando Iniciativas supports women entrepreneurs throughout their journey—from the initial idea to the consolidation of their projects in the social economy—by offering:
✅ Training workshops (both in-person and online), led by experts in entrepreneurship, financing, and the social economy.
✅ Innovative Social Economy Project Lab: a space for learning, mentoring, and collaboration, where participants will benefit from practical training, personalised advice, and access to shared work environments.
✅ Entrepreneurship awards: the four best initiatives will be recognised with the Sembrando Iniciativas – Startup Europe Awards, a joint initiative of the European Commission and Finnova that highlights and promotes innovative solutions aligned with the SDGs and the EU’s key challenges.
📅 Programme schedule – Innovative Social Economy Project Lab (May–June 2025):
- Practical training: five online sessions (May 27 – June 10) on leadership, innovation, sustainability, and financing.
- Workshops on self-awareness and entrepreneurial synergies: June 12 and 13.
- Personalised mentoring with experts in entrepreneurship and social economy.
- Final project pitch before a specialised jury.
Following this intensive process, participants will transform their ideas into solid, viable projects with the potential to be awarded and further develop within the European entrepreneurial ecosystem.
