An International Congress of Startups in the industrial and innovative sector, unique in connecting latitudes and opportunities.

Brussels 19 December 2024

The International Congress of Industrial Startups 2024 has established itself as a unique event to drive innovation and foster global connections in the industrial sector. Held from 16 to 18 December in the Ágora auditorium of the Nexo space of the Caja Burgos Foundation, this event brought together entrepreneurs, investors and experts to explore the latest trends in Industry 4.0. The Caja Burgos Foundation, recognised for its leadership in entrepreneurship and circular economy, has positioned itself as a benchmark for this type of initiative.

LIFE ECOdigestion 2.0: Innovation applied to waste management

Juanma Revuelta, CEO of Finnova, participated in the congress as an expert in innovation and European funding. During his speech, he presented the LIFE ECOdigestion 2.0 project, one of the 20 projects Finnova is currently working on. This innovative solution could be of value to manage putrescible organic waste, milk and organic fraction of municipal solid waste (MSW) etc, relevant challenges for the agri-food industry in the province of Burgos.

LIFE ECOdigestion 2.0, as an example, presents several advantages: reducing waste management costs and generating clean energy in the form of biogas, while at the same time it can produce biofertilisers or fertilisers for the agricultural sector. In addition, Revuelta highlighted various European funding opportunities, such as the LIFE, INTERREG and Creative Europe programmes, underlining their potential to enhance the cultural and historical heritage of the region, promoting cultural tourism.

Outstanding participation of international experts

The congress also featured the intervention of Isidro Laso, Senior Official of the European Innovation Council of the European Commission, recognised for his experience in supporting start-ups. His participation highlighted the opportunities that Europe offers for innovative entrepreneurship in the industrial sector.

Another of the speakers was Andrés López Rodríguez, an expert in strategic communication, institutional relations and development cooperation, with experience in UNICEF Congo. López Rodríguez shared territorial marketing strategies for the province of Burgos, focused on attracting talent and investment for the development of the countryside and industry.

An event to foster sustainable innovation and synergies

‘The International Congress of Industrial Startups is a unique platform to connect entrepreneurial talent with the opportunities offered by European funds. At Finnova, we are committed to supporting startups that drive sustainable innovation in industry, and this event is the perfect setting to foster those synergies,’ said Juanma Revuelta.

This meeting has reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for innovative and sustainable projects, opening new doors for the development of the industry and strengthening the connection between talents, resources and opportunities at a global level.
