What is EIC Accelerator?The EIC Accelerator (previously SME Instrument Phase 2) supports high-risk, high-potential innovators, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises with funding opportunities and acceleration services. The main focus of the EIC Accelerator is on market-creating innovations that shape new markets and generate jobs, growth and higher standards of living. Selected companies receive from 0.5 to 2.5M euros funding at 70% and optional equity of up to 15M euros to scale up their innovation idea. They will also be offered acceleration services to connect with investors, corporates and likeminded entrepreneurs. |
Who?This programme is addressed to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) who are developing a disruptive innovations and seek financial support to complete their research and development from the prototype stage to a complete, commercial product. Additionally, they are offered from 0,5 to 15M in the form of equity investment to internationalise and scale up their innovative project. Companies from any EU Member State or an associated country can be eligible. Projects shall last 12 to 24 months. |

When?The next EIC Accelerator deadlines for the full applications (Step 2) will be on June 9th, 2021 and October 6th, 2021 under Horizon Europe. Short applications (Step 1) must be submitted at least 6 weeks in advance. |

Step 1: Short Application & Pitch Video Contains a proposal of only a few pages and also includes a pitch video what focus on the founders, the innovation and the business model. Step 2: Long Application It consists of a detailed representation of the project, its business plan and the overall impact. Step 3: Jury Interview10-minute presentation of a pitch, following the suggested template and a detailed 20 minutes interview with questions and answers with the jury. |
