Women’s Entrepreneurship, protagonist of the Commerce Ateneo Startup Europe Awards

The eighth edition of the awards integrated the ecosystem with the Fundadoras Awards

Startup Europe Awards from the Finnova Foundation provided the European funding perspective for the international boost of entrepreneurship

Valencia – In the afternoon of Monday, November 27, entrepreneurship in commerce received fundamental recognition through the Commerce Ateneo Startup Europe Awards. These awards are celebrated in collaboration with the Finnova Foundation and the institutional support of the European Commission through the Startup Europe Awards. The winners are granted the opportunity to develop and boost their company in the heart of Europe, gaining access to opportunities such as funding, networking, and mentoring, among other benefits.

The Commerce Ateneo Startup Europe Awards granted the first prize to Unblock and a special mention to Loov Shoes and Bepompo. The event, held at the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia, was inaugurated by Vicente Gomar, Vice President of Ateneo Mercantil, and featured the presence of Rafael Escamilla, Director of External Relations at IVACE and Secretary General of Foro ADRS Spain.

Fundadoras Awards 2023

The gala included the entrepreneurial ecosystem with the Fundadoras Awards 2023, which support and promote female entrepreneurship in the idea, startup, and business phases.

Fundadoras, with the institutional support of Valencia Activa, awarded  prizes to C1b3rwoman in the Idea Phase, Dsight in the Startup Phase, and Óptica Ciscar in the Business Phase. Additionally, special Finnova awards were granted to Tangerina Sin Filtros, Bepompo, Interazafatas, In reset, and Centre Somnia Culla. The Fundadoras Special Mention went to Sheila Martínez Box, the European featherweight boxing champion. Furthermore, Fundadoras presented a special award to Esther Castells, Diana de Arias, Alicia Mora, and Lorena Pérez, who were members of the jury and have supported the association on various occasions since its creation in 2018.

The presentation of these awards not only celebrates individual achievements but also promotes the need for collaboration and inspiration within the entrepreneurial community. Juanma Revuelta, CEO of Finnova, explained the importance of European funding support for innovative projects: ‘There are different programs and initiatives that drive entrepreneurship in its various stages. That’s why, at Finnova, we contribute courses as prizes to understand European funds, enabling the awardees to take a step forward in seeking European support.’
