Startup Europe Awards

Four startups will represent Cantabria at the Startups Europe Awards Spain 2018

Last Sunday was held in Torrelavega the First Open Competition for Entrepreneurship. The winners of this competition will represent Cantabria at the StartUp Europea Awards Spain 2018. This initiative of the European Commission and the Finnova Foundation is supported by the President of the European Parliament, the President of the Committee of the Regions, the Vice-President of the Economic and Social Committee and several Members of the European Parliament. StartUp Europe Accelerator of the Finnova Foundation also supports this initiative.

StartUp Europe Awards presents an award methodology for startups at local, regional, national and European level that encourages open innovation and collaboration between the different actors of the European ecosystem, through public-private partnerships to support entrepreneurs. In addition, it creates a network of contacts that will inspire and give visibility to all local startups so that, using this network, they can scale their services and products globally.

The Advanced Oxidation project focuses on the cleaning and disinfection of work centres in the food industry through the execution of oxidation processes using only cold water and dispensing with chemical components. This startup will represent the province in the Climate category.

Lombricultura Val del Mazo worm farming, winner of the  category Agritech, is focused on biotechnology applied to livestock.

Investalga AHTI with a project on algae culture for the extraction of added value compounds for biomedicine and biotechnology will be the representative of Cantabria in the  e-Health category.

Wetkube, with a project focused on the production and marketing of a system for the transport and acceleration of neoprene drying will represent Cantabria in the Green category.
